You're bound to be in Austin at some point this summer. And if you're not into making reservations at a real restaurant, you'll probably end up at a food truck or three while you're there.

I love Mighty Cone and the other great spots in the park on South Congress. And I'm excited that Odd Duck is now going to be a restaurant. And Gourdough's ahmahgawd, Gourdough's.

But this time, I wanted to try a couple new places. So I asked the Twitter thing. And that's when lunch became epic lunch.

Daniel Walker of @deepinthegut said Izzoz Tacos was worth trying, and then @BBQSnob recommended J Mueller BBQ. Turns out, both places are on South 1st Street. Fuck to the yes. When I heard Bananarchy had a truck in that area, too, it was on.

Here's what you do when you go:

While your friends are waiting in line at Franklin BBQ for you, stop by J Mueller BBQ truck and pick up some brisket, ribs and a giant side of squash casserole (it's all D-cup awesome). Save some to bring back to your friends in the Franklin line and have your own Franklin BBQ versus J Mueller BBQ taste-off. Spoiler alert: Everyone wins.

After that appetizer at J Mueller's, hit up Izzoz Tacos for some queso and three tacos (fried avocado, tempura shrimp and a grilled tilapia).

I inhaled the shrimp tempura taco (tempura-battered shrimp, slaw, pickled red onion, cilantro lime aioli) pre-photographing. Get it. It's great. And definitely get that fried avocado taco (tempura-battered avocado, arugula, tomato, cojita cheese, chipotle sherry vinaigrette). It gives the fried avocado cone from Mighty Cone a run for its money.

Then, head to Bananarchy and order yourself one of their awesome frozen banana specialties. I had the Hippy Dippy. Because hippies are delicious.

I don't recommend operating heavy machinery after this suggested meal plan. I do recommend a good, strong nap.
