Were you the kid at camp that alway caught his marshmallow on fire and waved it in front of other campers' faces and then got in trouble? That kind of reckless behavior has no doubt gotten you far in life. Luckily, today being National S’Mores Day and all, the bartenders at the NYLO Las Colinas will toast your marshmallow for you — and add booze to it. It's much safer than a flaming marshmallow on a stick.

NYLO's S'mores Crunch Cocktail is inspired by the classic White Russian, but with a delicious bite thanks to the locally produced whiskey. The cocktail will be available today, Aug. 9, only, so pop in for one or make it at home and see how big you can make the marshmallow in the microwave without it exploding.

S’mores Crunch Cocktail
Chocolate syrup
Graham cracker crumbs (or crushed graham crackers for a coarser texture)
1.5 oz. Kahlua Pumpkin Spice
1.5 oz. Red River Whiskey
1.5 oz. heavy whipping cream
1 marshmallow (for garnish)
Ice

Pour chocolate syrup onto a small plate and graham crackers on a separate plate. Dip the rim of a glass in the chocolate syrup and allow excess to drip off. Dip the chocolate rim in the graham crackers to coat thoroughly. Pour Kahlua and whiskey in the glass over ice, then pour the whipping cream over a spoon to create a float on top of the other spirits. Garnish with a toasted marshmallow.
