The Place: Smoke The Cause: Foodways Texas On January 24, Smoke is holding a "Gulf Coast Gathering" -- a Gulf-inspired seafood feast (and that means shrimp, oysters and fish) benefiting Foodways Texas. The event will feature live music, an oyster-shucking contest and more. The event starts at 6:30. Tickets are $75 and available here.
The Event: Souper Bowl of Caring The Cause: Tarrant County and North Texas Food Banks Souper Bowl of Caring is a food drive going on between January 17-February 6. Lend a hand by collecting donations of prepacked, nonperishable food items and delivering them to the North Texas Food Bank or another charity. Don't forget to report your group's donation total to www.souperbowl.org or 1-800-SOUP (7687) You may also make a donation to any of the Souper Bowl's supporters, including Albertsons, Kroger, Tom Thumb and Market Street. Make cash donations at the registers.
The Place: Houlihan's in Garland The Cause: Naaman Forest High School music program and VH1's Save The Music Foundation. January 19 at 7:45 p.m. will find Houlihan's restaurant buzzing with live entertainment from the Naaman Forest High School Orchestra Ensemble, followed by the Garland Symphony Orchestra and finally The Vinyl Spiders. Guests are invited to enjoy drinks, desserts and make donations on their receipts. Donations will be split equally between NFHS and VH1. Go Forest Rangers!
