Alice Laussade is now officially the funniest freakin' food journalist in America. The James Beard Foundation just said so tonight at its 2013 food journalism awards.

We knew this already, of course, still it's nice to hear from other people. Or as Alice put it on Twitter: "Everyone please take 8 shots for me. This is so awesome."

She would drink them herself, but as you can see in the photo, Alice is eight months pregnant, which is why she didn't fly to New York to collect the award herself. (Not that anyone is suggesting that Alice's water breaking on an airliner would in any way resemble an acid-eating-through-the-spaceship scene from Alien. But still.)

She won for "The Cheap Bastard's Ultimate Guide to Eating like a Total Cheap Bastard in Dallas." You should definitely check it out and have a shot every time you run across a swear word. Really, do it for Alice.
