Step aside, macarons and over-the-top milkshakes. Kate Weiser and chef Andrea Meyer of Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie are teaming up this weekend to bring an inevitable future food trend to fruition: the Waffant, a "warm, buttery, flaky waffle croissant filled with fresh, next level ice cream flavor," Weiser said.
Let's break this down: waffle + croissant + ice cream sandwich + $6 price tag. When combined with Weiser's ice cream creations, is there any way this dessert could possibly fall flat? It's not likely. Plus, customization is the name of the game. "People will be able to choose from the 'scoops by the cup' menu to put between buttery, cloud-like happiness topped with different sugars to complement the ice cream flavor choices," Weiser said.
To get one of these bad boys, head out to Kate Weiser Chocolate at Trinity Groves this weekend — the Waffants start flying the evening of Friday, April 8, and roll until they sell out Sunday, April 10. Chef Andrea will be in the house from 7-9 p.m. Saturday night. "Chef Andrea from Bisous Bisous and myself have decided it was time to take our friendship to the next level and give Dallas something to hashtag about," Weiser said, sharing the hashtag #KWCxBISOUS. "We have created something that speaks to both our styles and personalities while achieving the real goal of 'making something taste damn delicious.'"
