Dallas Beer Week gets tapped this Thursday and lasts for a solid eight days of sudsy celebrations. All you need to do is get your fancy beer-drinking pants out of the cleaners then just drink local beer everywhere. The goals, aspirations and, most important, calendar for the city-wide drink-off can be found at Dallas Beer Week.
Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert will be in the Town of the Cow on Friday night for Good Vs. Evil, a sort of tell-all stand-up routine of kitchen shenanigans, including light heavy drug use. Scott Reitz got the details in an interview with Ripert recently. No word on if snacks will be provided, but both chefs will have their books available for your purchasing needs.

This weekend is the 13th Annual White Rock Lake Festival. The theme is "Tunes & Trucks," and includes local bands and food trucks, like Ssahm, Crazy Fish, The Lab Food Truck, Doughboys Pizza, The Butcher's Son, Four Seasons, Chili Pepper Grill and CupCakin'. There will be a pet adoption, petting zoo and crafts. It's $5 at the gate, kids five and under are free. The promoter of the event did a band "pairing." Example:
This Thursday the Common Table will tap the first kegs from local brewery Four Corners, including "Local Buzz," a honey rye golden ale and "Red's Roja," an American red ale. This has been a long time in the making for this group of brewers. Should be a fun night.
Chef Dat is having a seafood dinner Thursday, November 8, with all local produce and wild-caught seafood. The Louisiana- and Hawaii-inspired dinner starts at 7:30, BYOVino, RSVP to [email protected]. $85 per person, in the Lakewood area.
Kinky Friedman will be at the Sigel's at 5757 Greenville Ave. this Friday, November 9, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. pitching his new Man in Black Tequila. Iff the mood is right, maybe he'll also sing you a song, chat politics or sign your chest if you'd like.
TJ's Fresh Seafood Market and Grill is hosting a Spanish Seafood and Wine Dinner next Tuesday at the new location at 4212 Oak Lawn Ave. Dinner is $50 per person, plus an additional $30 for the wine pairing.
