Earlier this year, Cowboy Chow rolled out its recession menu. Today, prices plummet even lower in honor of Texas Independence Day. Yup, it has been 173 years since the Lone Star state broke from Mexico and declared itself a republic. So Cowboy Chow is offering tacos for $1.73 each.
Chef Jason Boso's specialty is brisket tacos, a particularly patriotic version. But you'll need to act fast to try them at honorary 1836 prices. Today only, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the following tacos will be available for $1.73:
Brisket tacos with jalapeños, queso fresco, cowboy caviar and avocado-lime cream
Sharp cheddar brisket tacos with pico de gallo and avocado-lime cream
BBQ brisket tacos with BBQ sauce, sharp cheddar and sweet and spicy onions
Tomatillo-tequila pulled chicken tacos with queso fresco, pico de gallo and avocado-lime cream
Veggie (cowgirl) tacos with mashed potatoes, cowboy caviar, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, roasted red bell peppers, crispy tortilla strips and avocado-lime cream
Peppered chicken-bacon-ranch tacos
Red pepper brisket tacos, cowboy caviar, goat cheese and avocado-lime cream
We're down with the pioneer pricing, but we have to wonder what a real 1800s cowboy would think about cowboy caviar and avocado-lime cream.
