Joel Harloff, who headed the kitchen at Dali until the popular One Arts Plaza wine bar closed last week, has been named executive chef of The Green Room in Deep Ellum.

"Joel was on our wish list, but not necessarily our short list," managing partner Taylor Allday says in a release announcing the appointment. "After several meetings over the July Fourth weekend, we recognized that Joel understood our goals for the Green Room."

Harloff, a Wisconsin native and Culinary Institute of America grad, has worked at Bistro 1401, Nana Grill, Mi Piaci and The Landmark at the Melrose Hotel.

According to the release, Harloff will be tasked with developing an extensive "Feed Me, Wine Me," program -- a tasting menu holdover from The Green Room's first incarnation -- a rooftop deck menu and an extended Sunday brunch.

The Green Room is now hosting private parties, and will open to the public later this month.
