Last week we told you the marriage of local beer and music in Fort Worth, the happy couple being Martin House Brewing Company and The Toadies. All of this is in commemoration of The Toadie's re-release and subsequent tour of the platinum-selling album Rubberneck. Band members Vaden and Rez worked with brewers to create Rubberneck Red, a double red IPA.
We now have an official launch date for this new beer. On March 16, The Toadies will perform at the brewery along the banks of the Trinity (220 S. Sylvania Ave.) to officially introduce their new beer to the world. And all too coincidentally, tickets for the event go on sell on the day for lovers, this Friday, February 14, Valentine's Day.
More specifically, love-drunk cherubs will open the website for ticket sales at 10:00 a.m. sharp. Central standard time. So, clear your schedule, pitch a tent and make sure your Internet connection is impenetrable.
On the day of, March 16, the brewery doors will open at 2:00 p.m. The concert starts at 3:00 p.m. with Matt Hillyer of Eleven Hundred Springs, followed by the Toadies. Concert goers will receive a free commemorative pint glass and 3 beers. Tickets are $20 (three beers and a show!). No pets, no chairs inside, 21 and over only. And be nice.
