Earlier this month, Mayuri, "one of the oldest Indian restaurants in the DFW area," according to its owner Lalith Thota, moved from its location at Highway 114 and O'Connor Boulevard, where it had been serving diners for 14 years. Mayuri now serves its "typical ethnic Indian food," including a seven-day-a-week buffet, from its new location at the intersection of LBJ Freeway and MacArthur Boulevard in Irving. The restaurant sits behind Target and next to TGI Friday's.
Thota told us that Mayuri is different from other Indian restaurants because it "employs two chefs to make fresh bread, dosa and nan, every day." In addition to serving customers lunch and dinner, Mayuri also caters for hotels such as the Gaylord Texan and the Hilton Anatole.
