The Four Seasons' Cafe on the Green has two events this weekend. The first, Mixology Mistletoe and Merriment, is a holiday-themed class that will teach participants how to egg a nog, put some cheer in their punch and make cocktails that smack of Santa's tears. The second event is a bit more kid friendly. Learn how to decorate cupcakes for the holidays courtesy of Four Season's Pastry Chef de Partie Hayoung Lesser. Kiddos 8 and under must be supervised by an adult. For reservations to either event, call 972-717-2420.

Town squares better watch out: Denton just upped their merriment game. On Friday, the Denton Town Square will be cast in a soft, magical glow — the kind that can only be generated from thousands of twinkling Christmas lights. Or a dumpster that caught on fire. As the square becomes illuminated, merchants will dispense piping hot cups of wassail. In case you didn't know, wassail is a hot beverage made from the blood of young apples. And it is delicious. The festivities will continue on Saturday, so your weekend schedule should read something like this: Friday — wassail. Saturday — more wassail.

LUCK and Glazed Donut Works are combining forces yet again as they work to bring an end to as many diets as possible. Their weapons? Beer and doughnuts. This will be the ninth time for the two businesses to team up, and if the popularity of their previous pairings is any indicator then there are plenty of Dallasites just waiting for a reason to bring their Paleo regimens to a crushing, yeasty halt. Doughnut and beer pairings include strawberry jam filled with Noble Rey's Off the Leash, eggnog and pastry cream with Peticolas' Great Scott, chocolate peppermint with Legion by Community and pomegranate and early grey with Texas Ale Project's Better Horizontal. Supplies are limited, so either arrive early or be prepared for a case of the food sads.
