Back in February we told you that Scotch and Sausage was going to pad out their offering with some tacos, because everyone loves tacos. And because tacos and tequila seemingly belong together, the agave spirit was thrown in for good measure. It's like some weird food double date, except that now Scotch and Sausage is backing out. The restaurant is becoming something new entirely.

At 11 a.m., Le Taco Cantina takes over the space on Oak Lawn Avenue. And because this whole thing isn't confusing enough, some of the tacos will feature Asian flavors. Moo shu duck, yellow curry and tempura avocado join the usual suspects like carnitas and such. And then there's the torta burgers.

You'll need to unhinge your jaw to get your mouth around this one, but when you do you'll be rewarded with a short rib patty, avocado, tomato, smoked carnitas, swiss cheese, shredded romaine, and crema. And then you'll fall over.

Daniel Tarasevich is the chef behind these newly revamped flavors. Tarasevich most recently cooked at The Second Floor at the Westin Galleria. Tarasevich seems like he's making the transition from French-American cooking to tequila-soaked party food pretty well. You have to admit: Making monster torta burgers and tacos sounds a lot more fun than pan searing scallops.
