For those who just can’t get enough Peeps or Easter spirit, there’s a beer for you. And maybe for others, if you like sweet marshmallows and glitter in your drinks.
The Collective Brewing Project is partnering with Taps and Caps, and they’re promising this brew will be more than just a marketing scheme.
“When we were talking with the Taps and Caps folks about working on a beer, we wanted to do something fun,” says Dave Riddile, who handles marketing for Collective. “The holiday was coming up, and we thought, ‘Why not a Peep-inspired beer?’”
The base of this will be Collective’s Petite Golden Sour. With that will be some lactose sugar, lemon peel, “a small amount of Peeps,” butterfly pea flower (for color) and edible glitter.
You can expect a sweet, tart beer “dressed up to look like a Peep” Riddile says. While the glitter will offer little shiny specs floating around your brew, it’s safe to eat, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Peep this Collab is set to release Friday — you can find it in Collective’s taproom, as well as Taps and Caps in Fort Worth and Lewisville. Other retailers are expected to carry it, too.
Happy drinking and happy Easter, friends.
