Recently some businesses along Knox Street colluded, but not in a mafia-ish way, to "brand" their neighborhood, officially calling it "The Knox Public Improvement Project." Catchy, isn't it?
To celebrate their new collaborative identity and goal of improving things, this loosely knit group of restaurants, retails shops and artsy places is hosting a street party later this month. (I'm thinking they created the project just to have a street party.)
The first annual Art of Knox street party will go down Saturday, October 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. Admission is free and local restaurants around Knox Street, including Abacus, Café Madrid, Forty Five Ten, Highland Park Pharmacy, Toulous and Villa O, will offer "tastings" of food and drinks. There will also be live cover-band music from Live80 and Special Edition Band, interactive art, promotions from area retailers and raffles to benefit the Friends of the Katy Trial.
The street party will be held on a closed section Travis between Armstrong and the Travis Walk parking garage. Visit Knox Dallas for more details.
