You have until the end of Thursday to make your family, friends and romantic interests like you. This is how: call 972-759-2277. Ask to speak to “the Lobster Man.” They’ll know who you’re talking about. Or not. Probably not. In fact, don’t say that. That would be a weird way to start a conversation. Instead, say that you heard about the $35 North Atlantic 2-pound lobster special and that you would like to reserve x number of lobsters. Then give them your name. And any other information they want. Hell, give them your Social Security number. The cheap, sweet lobster will be enough to compensate for a compromised identity.

If only there was a way to eat at the James Beard House without having to buy a plane ticket to New York. But you know … now that I mention it, chef Blaine Staniford is doing a preview of the six-course dinner he will serve next month at the James Beard House. Staniford, executive chef at Grace in Fort Worth, has prepared a menu sure to delight with dishes like rock shrimp tartare, smoked ocean trout, risotto with basil fed snails and popcorn panna cotta. The dinner is $125 per person. Call 817-877-3388 for reservations.

Another scorcher is coming this weekend, which means you can do one of two things: either crack an egg on the sidewalk and watch it cook or head to the Bishop Arts District for their second annual Christmas in July extravaganza. The kind people at the district have apparently made a deal with Pete Delkus, because they are promising a snowstorm. Yes, that's right, a snowstorm. With snow. And it just wouldn't be Christmas in July be without Santa, a live action play of A Charlie Brown Christmas and an ugly sweater contest. Merchants will also be participating, with restaurants such as Oddfellows and Emporium Pies featuring special menus.

Reunion Tower, or rather the lawn-like area near its base, is the place to be this Saturday. Enjoy live music, play some lawn games and hang out in the beer garden as you sip on craft beer from local breweries. Bring a picnic blanket and grab some eats from Easy Slider, Best Bayou, The Bomb Fried Pies, Ruthie's Rolling Cafe or one of the other participating food trucks. The Orb, beer and food trucks: It doesn’t get more Dallas than this.

LUCK and Glazed Donut Works are combining forces yet again as they work to bring an end to as many diets as possible. Their weapons? Beer and donuts. This will be the fifth time for the two businesses to team up, and if the popularity of their previous pairings is any indicator then there are plenty of Dallasites just waiting for a reason to bring their Paleo regimens to a crushing, yeasty halt. Donut and beer pairings include Meyer Lemon Poppy Seed with Peticolas Brewing Company’s Royal Scandal, Coconut Almond with Shannon Brewing Company IPA and Raspberry Glazed with Four Bullets Brewery's Royal Flush Red. Supplies are limited to the first 100 customers, so either arrive early or be prepared for a case of the food sads.

If your version of making cold coffee at home involves pouring scalding coffee over a bunch of ice and hoping that things don’t get too diluted, it may be time to step up your cold coffee game. If this is you, or if you just love coffee and want to learn more about the Toddy method, or if you love coffee and don’t know what the hell the Toddy method is but think it sounds exciting, then come to Method Coffee this Sunday. As part of their cold brew class, you’ll learn all about the Toddy cold brewing method. And best of all, you’ll get to drink a lot of coffee in the process. The cost is $10 per person.
