The Libertine's June beer dinner Wednesday night features Colorado's Avery Brewing Company, including a couple of rarer brews like Samael's Ale and Collaboration Not Litigation. Chef Taylor McCreary came up with a five-course menu of French cuisine inspired by the likes of Bernard Loiseau, the Troigrois Brothers, Paul Bocuse and Thomas Keller, featuring frog legs, roulade of beef and more.
As usual, the dinner begins at 7 p.m. and is $50 per person plus tax and tip. However, one creative City of Ate reader will win a pair of seats at the dinner.

1st Course: Salad de Porc -- Glazed Pork Belly, Grilled Frisee, Fines Herbs and Apple Cider Vinaigrette. Paired with Avery IPA.
2nd Course: Frog Legs with Spicy Garlic Puree and Parsley Coulis. Paired with Avery White Rascal Belgian Wheat Ale.
3rd Course: Croquette of Brandade with Smoked Tomato Gastrique. Paired with Avery Collaboration not Litigation.
4th Course: Roulade of Beef & Duxelle with Fava Bean Puree. Paired with Avery Salvation.
5th Course: Millefueille with Ancho Chocolate Sauce, Blackberries and Vanilla Whipped Cream. Paired with Avery Samael's.
Now, I'm not going to gripe about this menu featuring French food so close to our nation's own Independence Day. The French were, after all, our allies in the American Revolution. Or so I seem to remember. I've consumed many, many beers since finishing up my cursory American history coursework.
But the proximity to July 4 inspires this month's comment contest.
