If your team's one of the 30 NFL teams down-and-out come February, you probably won't care who wins in the Super Bowl, so maybe you should start cheering for pizza instead. If Super Bowl XLV reaches overtime, you'll be a winner. Of course, the odds are stacked against you, but it's free food, right?
Papa Johns announced Monday that if the game was tied at the end of regulation, they would reward anyone enrolling in their Papa Points program between Monday and 11:59 p.m. on February 5 with enough points for a large three-topping. The points would be redeemable the day after the Super Bowl, the site said.
If the game actually went into overtime, it would be the first Super Bowl in history to do so. In the last decade, three games have been decided by a three-point margin. Arguably, the closest a Super Bowl has come to overtime was the 2002 Super Bowl. As time expired on the clock, New England Patriots kicker Adam Vinatieri booted a 48-yard, game-winning field goal to give the Patriots a 17 - 14 lead over the St. Louis Rams. Here's to hopin', pizza fans.
