Founded by Susan Sarich 10 years ago, SusieCakes was created with a mission to make "sentimental dessert favorites" with no artificial preservatives, high fructose corn syrup or trans fat. The menu touts ingredients like Tahitian vanilla bean and European-style butter. Cakes are an obvious specialty, and SusieCakes employs a "celebration specialist" to work with customers by appointment on custom creations.
The bakery opens 9 a.m. Saturday, April 16. No word on whether Dallasites will camp out overnight for this opening, as they did for the recent opening nearby of Carlo’s Bakery, though the absence of any cake celebrities means this bakery launch may be a little more ... sane.

The brand is best known for its classic Vanilla Celebration Cake, custom decorated cakes and its cupcakes, which are filled with delicious frosting, resulting in a moist, yummy cupcake bursting with flavor.
