Pappas Bros. Steakhouse is kicking off the holiday season with its annual wine tasting this weekend. The wine list varies from a 2012 “Terrers” Brut Nature, Gran Reserva, Cava Recaredo from Penedes, Spain, to a 1983 “Créme De Téte” Chateau Gilette, Preignac from Sauternes, France. Tickets do not include tax or gratuity.

This weekend, Good Local Markets hosts its 10th annual Battle of the Pies, and it's the public's job to award winners in the categories of fruit, nut, chocolate, cream/custard, most beautiful and best overall. Tasting tickets are available the day of the event.

The Veggie Store will be open this Saturday with free fruits and vegetables for neighbors in need. Donations are always welcome as this organization continues its mission to help assist others in the food desert of southern Dallas County.

Pancakes, booze and art make up a special Saturday event in Deep Ellum. You can explore more than 500 pieces of work by more than 100 artists local to Dallas. While doing so, you can sip craft beer and eat pancakes. Tickets get you in, along with all the pancakes you want.

The Rustic jumps into the holiday spirit with its Pints, Pigskin and Pig Roast event. Guests can enjoy roasted pig that’s smoked on the patio and served as the Rustic’s pork carnitas. $1 from every carnitas taco purchase will go to the North Texas Food Bank. NoCast Brewery will also be on-site featuring beer that pairs perfectly with the roasted pig: the Agriculture Rye.
