100 Favorite Dishes: The Stodg Burger
At The Porch

As a countdown to the Dallas Observer's "Best of Dallas" 2010, City of Ate is serving up 100 of the favorite dishes we crave, savor and hope to scarf down again soon. These dishes are in no particular order. Some are little known, others celebrated. Some are pricey, others can be eaten on the cheap, but all are delicious to the extreme. Don't hesitate to share your own nominations in the comments. More of the dish's tasty details are after the jump.

No. 23: The Stodg Burger at The Porch

The first time we experienced The Porch's Stodg burger was when our significant other took us there for our birthday. She quickly grew jealous once the burger arrived, not only because she hadn't ordered one herself, but because the groans we emitted as we devoured the perfectly cooked burger -- with aged cheddar, Nueske's Bacon and a fried egg on a foie-buttered bun -- were probably a little obscene. Needless to say, she's livid about our new book of Stodg haikus, which hits bookstores soon. Here's a sneak peek:

I tasted Stodg once the memory haunts me still O, Beef Lolita! They heard through the wall Moans of foie-buttered pleasure Just me and the Stodg
