When we asked what Dallas would taste like on our Facebook feed, though, things got even more strange. It seems we are a city without a unique culinary identity, and that led our readers to come up with some questionable flavors. What does Dallas taste like? Spray tans and silicone, according to one reader, and Botox, according to another.

But as delicious as all of those ideas sounded, Ben and Jerry's chose to opt for for safety when asked by Chipotle to create some custom flavors to sample at their Cultivate Festival to be held in Irving. This Saturday, if you can find the Ben and Jerry's tent amidst all the O.A.R. and Sylvan Esso performances, you'll be treated to free samples of Bourbon Pecan Pie and Bar-B-Que Peach ice cream.

Buttery bourbon ice cream with pecans, shortbread cookie pieces and a whisky caramel swirl sounds significantly better than silicone flavored ice cream, but it's not nearly as innovative or adventurous. Ancho peach ice cream with a Bar-B-Que caramel swirl is a little more edgy and sounds genuinely delicious.

But I still have a hard time thinking either of them could beat our best reader recommendations, which was simply described as "brunch." Think about it: Soft waffle chunks, maple syrup and perhaps the restrained use of salty bacon -- this ice cream sounds like it could turn out to be worth a trip to Irving.

Chipotle's Festival will be held from 11 a.m. 7 p.m. this Saturday, October 18 at Lake Carolyn. If you see those Ben & Jerry's guys, do us a favor and let them know you were really pulling for the spray tan flavor. Maybe we'll get it next time.
