It's only Wednesday. Will the weekend ever get here?

If you need an incentive to get over the hump and through the next few days, we have one for you: Cupcakes.

To thank its customers for a "sweet and successful year" at its Plano location, Tart Pastry Studio & Boutique is celebrating its first anniversary there from 5 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 7150 Bishop Road, in Plano.

Celebratory dessert and champagne tasters will be available, and cupcakes are buy one, get one half off all day Saturday.

Sisters Stephanie and Kristin Rajal opened Tart's first location on Lover's Lane in 2004, combining Kristin's culinary training in New York City with Stephanie's graphic design experience to create a whimsical, colorful aesthetic that shows up in everything from the studio's décor to the smallest petit four.

Self-identified as "The Sweetest Shop in Town," Tart Bakery's cupcake flavors include chocolate, red velvet, lemon and strawberry. In addition to cupcakes, Tart offers a diverse selection of cakes (German chocolate, tres leches and sacher torte, to name a few), petit fours, pies, brownies and of course, tarts.

Tart Pastry Studio & Boutique Plano is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
