If you're an East Dallas resident and a fan of Chip's Old Fashioned Hamburgers, more than six months of anticipation comes to a close today. The second location of the Dallas-based burger restaurant opens today, the restaurant announced on Facebook.
Owner Brent Gamster and his family purchased the Chip's location on Lovers Lane two years ago, with the intention of opening five to six locations in the coming years. Gamster announced this second location, near the corner of Skillman and La Vista, back in May of this year. He said the new location should open by the end of the summer.
While the coming cold front would indicate that Gamster was too optimistic, the opening delays have come to an end. The new location opens at 11:00 a.m. today and will stay open till 9:30 p.m.
The original location built its fan base on straightforward burgers on poppyseed buns, fries, onion rings and milkshakes blended from Blue Bell ice cream.
