Eating feels good. Giving to charity feels good. But what to do when you get a hankerin' for both? One idea: Grab one of only 75 tickets available for Dine Around Uptown, an event put on by the North Texas Food Bank's young professionals group and hosted by celebrity chef and all-around sweetheart Tiffany Derry of Private | Social.
You'll feel great as you're driven from restaurant to restaurant by private cars, because 100 percent of your ticket price is going to the NTFB. Dine Around Uptown is kind of like a pub crawl, but instead of downing beers and stumbling from pub to pub, you get whisked from sexy restaurant to sexy restaurant while eating deliciously fancy food and drinking specialty cocktails. It all adds up to (hopefully) much less sloshy, sloshy shame at the end of the night. Good for you.
Feed yourself while feeding the less fortunate -- and I don't know -- you might just feed your soul a little bit too.
Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
