Chef Aarón Sánchez, a regular on the Food Network and executive chef of Centrico in New York City, will sign copies of his new cookbook, Simple Food, Big Flavor, at Central Market on Lovers Lane this Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In his Latin cuisine-inspired cookbook, Sánchez features 15 base recipes for sauces, purees and pastes that are used in almost 100 different dishes. For instance, the Garlic-Chipotle Love sauce with roasted garlic, canned adobo chipotles, cilantro and lime zest is used in a mashed potato dish, a mussels-with-beer entree and a bean and butternut squash picadillo, just to name a few.
In town shooting a new season of Heat Seekers for the Food Network, Sánchez's appearance at Central Market is the only stop on his impromptu book tour. So swing by for a blurry iPhone photo with one of People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People of 2005 and then grab the ingredients for a few of the recipes in your freshly inked cookbook.
