Deep Ellum's Mokah Coffee Bar is giving back to the community this week. From today until Saturday, August 7, 100 percent of sales will be donated to Deep Ellum Association Community.
You can visit Mokah Coffee Bar during its regular business hours, 7 a.m.-10 p.m. on Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, to help out with the cause. The menu offers espresso drinks, drip coffee, blended beverages, smoothies, pastries, bagels, fruit and sandwiches.
Also, all this week they will be hosting a different event each night to help raise money. Some of the things you can look forward to are Movie Monday, open mic night, Sunset Yoga on the patio, live music and community barbecue.

Chef Abraham Salum of Salum will lead a cooking class at Central Market next Monday, August 9, from 6:30-9 p.m. He will showcase contemporary Mexican cuisine like chicharron-crusted panela cheese, watermelon and jicama salad with avocado aioli; piloncillo and chipotle-braised short ribs with black bean puree; and roasted peaches in agave syrup, almond palanqueta and yogurt ice cream. Trinity Hall Pub will host a single-malt scotch tasting on Tuesday, August 3. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. and will feature six whiskys and light appetizers for $25 per guest. The tasting requires reservations, and you can reserve a spot by visiting www.trinityhall.tv.
