Remember last year's BrewFest? Yeah, it's a little foggy for me, too. I do remember large quantities of humans drinking large quantities of good booze, though. Beer snobbery was in full effect, too: The lines for the craft breweries were significantly longer than those that lead to the conventional kegs. This year's event promises more of the same, only with even more brews, many of which are local.
Community Beer, Deep Ellum Brewing Co., Peticolas, Four Corners, and Lakewood round out the super-local breweries. While Martin House from Fort Worth, Revolver from Granbury and Firewheel from Rowlette round out the breweries that are only a short drive away.
Infamous Brewing Co. from Austin just received a mention in The Times -- they'll be coming too. And then there's a whole slew of conventional breweries ready to fill your poor, depraved bellies with bubbling beer.

We're tapping the kegs Saturday, August 24 in the Dallas Arts District, where you'll be able to sample 300 types of beer from around the globe while you listen to live music and eat pretzels on a string. Doors open at 6 p.m. for VIP ticket holders, and 7 p.m. for the rest of us.
Tickets include 12 beer samplings, and if that's not enough you can buy more sample cards for just $2 at the event. VIP attendees get liquor samples, food samples and early access so they sample their faces off before the hoards arrive. You can buy your tickets at Ticketfly, and find answers to other questions you might have, including all the participating breweries, at the event's website.
