More Details on Tacolandia: Ticket Flash Sale

Tacolandia approaches! In just three weekends, taqueros from all over DFW will descend on City Hall Plaza, blanketing the area with a thick layer of salsa verde. Additional taco makers are still confirming, but presently 30 are slated to stuff your face with more tacos than you can possibly handle.

Tacolandia is an equal opportunity taco event. We'll feature the regular guys, including El Come Taco, Le Taco and Taqueria La Ventana; the fusion taco guys, including Velvet Taco, Torchy's Tacos and Urban Taco; torta restaurants; Tex-Mex restaurants; and even a few curve-ball restaurants that you might not consider as taco contenders.

And because life isn't fun without winners and losers, we're holding a multi-category taco competition while we're at it. Katherine Clapner of Dude, Sweet Chocolate; Donovan Lewis from The Ticket; Kitchen Dog Theater's Tina Parker; and CentralTrak's Heyd Fontenot are ready to determine Tacolandia's best tacos. They'll give awards for Best Traditional Taco, Best New School Taco, Best Tortilla, Best Salsa and Most Interesting Taco. There will also be people's choice awards, so arrive hungry and ready to judge!

Taco bonus: This Sunday, October 4, is National Taco Day, which is as good an excuse as any to give away Tacolandia tickets for a song. Starting at midnight October 2 (that's tonight) we're running a 48-hour FLASH SALE promotion for National Taco Day this Saturday and Sunday when tickets will cost only $15 for a savings of $10! If you miss that sale, fret not. You can buy a four-pack of general admission tickets for $75  and save $25 until midnight, October 11.
