I have a special place in my heart for Norma's, probably because it was where I had my first chicken-fried steak. It strikes me as odd that CFS isn't more popular outside of Texas but it isn't. And the fact that its become a regular part of my new culinary repertoire concerns me (not that much, though)
Anyway, back to Norma's. A third location will open in Frisco this April, according to a news release, and owner Ed Murph is going big. The new dining room will have seating for 135 diners and require a staff of 50.
The newest Norma's is going into The Centre at Preston Ridge, which according to their website has "more than 115 shops and restaurants, all surrounded by unique obelisks and bronze sculptures depicting scenes from the historical Shawnee Trail Drives. Think: Target, Old Navy, Pier 1 Imports and the like.

Doesn't sound much like the original Norma's surroundings, but I'm sure Frisco is tickled with the promise of mile-high pies and CFS in such close proximity.
