Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.
You know the story. First pig builds house of straw, wolf blows it down, second pig builds his house of sticks, wolf blows it down. Smart Pig #3 builds house of bricks, and wolf huffs and puffs with all his might and can't blow house down, so smart pig survives. In tribute to this heroic swine and his brothers, Whiskey Cake restaurant in Plano offers a trio of pork sliders dubbed Three Little Pigs, brought to the table on---you guessed it---a genuine house brick. The tiny sandwiches of pulled pork, napa slaw, crispy onions, and whiskey barbecue sauce are good enough to make you wolf them down right away---and the unique presentation is sure to draw questions and favorable comments from your fellow diners. You may share with them if you wish, or pig out on your own if you so desire.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
