If you're looking for a quick bite in the Arts District, there's a new restaurant open at KPMG Plaza at HALL Arts: The Artisan, which offers "a variety of hot and cold offerings daily at the walk-up dining counter, featuring regional flavors as well as global cuisine," according to a press release. "The market-style service offers fast and casual dining in an upscale and modern setting."

The restaurant comes from G Texas Catering and is located in the same building as Flora Street Cafe and Musume. Its specialty is serving up grab-and-go items for people looking for a quick bite for breakfast, lunch or an early dinner. Jones Reeder is executive chef.

Look for dishes like sofrito-marinated salmon, shrimp scampi with linguine, pecan-smoked brisket, carne asada tacos and pad Thai chicken saute. You can get dishes made-to-order or already prepared.

"The chef’s counter is surrounded by refrigerated and hot display cases which will showcase a variety of chef-prepared offerings like prosciutto and pear flatbread with Gorgonzola cheese and balsamic, muffuletta paninis, Croque Monsieur and a variety of composed salads," according to the release, along with sides like smoked mac and cheese and sauteed corn with cotija. A small market offers snacks and bottled drinks, too.

If you want to hang around awhile, the upper level, "called the Artisan Terrace, offers seating on the mezzanine with a beautiful view of the Texas Sculpture Walk and comfortable, shaded seating overlooking the Dallas Arts District," according to the release. And the Artisan Terrace Bar is open Friday and Saturday evenings, with cocktails like the Artisan martini, made with strawberries and balsamic, along with jalapeno-cilantro mules and raspberry margaritas, along with wine and craft beer.

The Artisan, 2330 Flora St. (Arts District). Open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday
