Taco Joint Opens, The Soda Gallery Closes and More From a Busy May for Dallas Restaurants

Another busy month in the Dallas restaurant scene has come and gone. Read on for the full list of opening and closing restaurants, and be sure to share tips about restaurant openings or closings in the comments section below or at dish@dallasobserver.com.

Openings:

Taco Joint (6434 E. Mockingbird): A second Taco Joint location has opened on Mockingbird Lane, and it serves booze.

Bandito's Tex-Mex Ice House (4700 W. Park) : Bandito's and Katy Trail Ice House had a baby.

Closings:

Pho Colonial (4727 Frankford): The Frankford Road location has closed its doors for good.

The Soda Gallery (408 N. Bishop) : The Oak Cliff soda gallery vanished without a trace.

Brackets (5300 E. Mockingbird) : The restaurant that Reitz thought was a hardware store has closed.

Coming soon:

Trader Joe's: The specialty retailer announced a second Dallas location.

Alamo Drafthouse: The Austin-based restaurant, bar and movie theater (yes, it's all three) is coming to Richardson.
