The Mavericks will face the Miami Heat tonight at Miami's American Airlines Arena in game 1 of the NBA Finals. While some Mavs fans will be there sporting their Dallas pride, those who didn't make the trek down to the Sunshine State will be able to catch the game at bars around town. Special game-watching parties and happy hours abound, and we've compiled a list of some of them.
The Meridian Room (3611 Parry Ave.)
The Meridian Room is offering pints of Franconia and a bratwurst sandwich for $7.50, and $1 off all German beers and liquor during all Mavericks playoff games.
American Airlines Center (2500 Victory Ave.) American Airlines Center is hosting two free game watching parties for games 1 and 2 of the NBA Finals. The first takes place tonight, and fans will have the opportunity to watch the game on HD video boards alongside the Mavs Dancers, ManiAACs, the Mavs street team, Ali Dee and Ro Parrish. The doors open at 7 p.m. The second party will take place June 2.
The Quarter Bar (3301 McKinney Ave.)
The Quarter Bar will be serving special Dallas Maverick themed drinks at happy hour prices during all playoff games. The drinks include the Dirk, Drank, Dunk, Jager and Red Bull ($4), Cuban Libra ($3), Jet Fuel, a shot of Rumple ($4), Kidd-a-Kazi, Blue Kamikaze shot ($4) and blue and green Jell-O shots ($2).
McKinney Avenue Tavern (2822 McKinney Ave.) McKinney Avenue Tavern is celebrating the 2011 NBA Finals by offering customers 99 cent vodka drinks and shots until Friday, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. They'll also be giving away a 42-inch HD plasma television after each Mavs win for the rest of the playoffs.
Hard Rock Café (2211 N. Houston St.)
Hard Rock Café will be serving cocktails at happy hour prices tonight at their watch party, and kids can eat for free with the purchase of an adult entrée. The party kicks off at 8 p.m.
Granada Theater (3524 Greenville Ave.)
The Granada Theater is hosting a NBA Finals Watching party tonight. The game will be aired on three large HD screens and the Granada will be featuring $5 premium vodka drinks, as well as prize pack giveaways, ticket giveaways and food giveaways. There is no cover and doors open at 7 p.m.
