The Place: The Libertine Bar The Cause: Kids at the Dallas Life Foundation Chad D's Annual Toy Drive is back for its 11th year. The event is free, so come to the Libertine Bar at 7 p.m. today with an unwrapped toy or cash donation to enjoy live music and local talent, including special musical guest, Ishi. The toys will be delivered to kids at the Dallas Life Foundation on Christmas Day.
The Libertine Bar is located at 2101 Greenville Ave.
The Place: Smashburger at McKinney Avenue and North Pearl Street The Cause: Family Gateway Smashburger's sixth store opens in Uptown on December 22. To celebrate, it's donating $1 to Family Gateway for every Lonestar Burger sold. Family Gateway provides individualized care to homeless families. Smashburger will donate an additional $500 to Family Gateway. The promotion runs until January 17.
