Hot Hip Hop at Three Links

Hip hop fans gathered at Three Links Sunday for a night of hip hop benefiting DJ Menace who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Performances included an opening set from Stanley Francisko & Guyceritops, Rakim Al-Jabbaar, Flower Child and Fat Pimp. DJ sets from were provided by Mike B, Leo J, DJ Assassinate, DJ Turns, DJ Priest and a classic hip hop mix by DJ Menace himself. Other notable local hip hop luminaries in attendance included producer Mousequake and Rob Ski (head of Galaxy 9).

Earlier that day veteran K104 Mix Squad member Raymond "DJ Hollywood" Morato tragically lost his battle with cancer at age 38. The show was a display of support and solidarity for one of Dallas-Fort Worth's beloved members. DJ Menace is transplant from Florida who joined the Radio One family here in Dallas 5 years ago. He's been a fixture within the local hip hop scene as both a DJ and producer. He's also played a large role in aiding the career of Rakim Al-Jabbaar. When he addressed the audience DJ Menace grateful and assured everyone he will survive and continue his career.
