Great Oprah’s ghost, we can’t stop giving stuff away! Today, we’ve got a pair of tickets to Friday’s Triple Play show, which will feature The Relatives, Pleasant Grove and Seryn, and serves as the grand opening of the Dallas City Performance Hall, a venue so new it still has that new venue smell. The walk-through I got last month was illuminating in many ways, but the real test – at least as a venue for live music – will come when people are in the seats. So, consider yourself part of the beta stage.
But wait, there’s more! On Saturday, the Dallas Jazz Collective is performing a two-hour set built around Dallas’ musical history, starting with Deep Ellum’s blues and jazz legacy and moving into more contemporary sounds. We’ve got a pair of tickets for that as well.
