Imagine you get a kick-ass gig in this great play. You’re not really clear on the plot, but it’s by this up-and-coming playwright and he’s so cool. Knowing him, it’s probably a drama. Plus, the other cast members seem to be great to work with. Might even be a little romance, but it’s too early to tell just yet. It’s so strange though, because the script is so similar to real life. Down to little details happening backstage…but then you haven’t gotten to the end yet. Surely, it changes up. And yet it doesn’t. Something is going on. Can you change the ending?! Will you end up as the script foretells? Find out as MBS Productions presents Mark-Brian Sonna’s translation of Manuel Tamayo y Baus’ A New Drama, a work considered to be his dramatic masterpiece. MBS Productions even credits Tamayo’s 1867 creation as possibly giving birth to modern theater. Performances are 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays through February 14 (with a special $29 chocolates and rose Valentine’s Day performance) at the Stone Cottage Theater, 15650 Addison Road in Addison.
