Dallas Neo-Classical Ballet is currently performing its first full-length ballet at various locations around town, and this weekend you can catch it at the beautiful Trammell and Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art, 2010 Flora St. The story selected is one of displacement, titled after its ultra-feminine protagonist, Kaguya-Hime. Based on an ancient Japanese tale, Kaguya-Hime is heir to the moon, but the orbital princess lands on earth at a young age. She’s raised by a rural bamboo cutter but as she matures, her celestial radiance grows undeniable. Soon, Kaguya-Hime attracts attention from suitors of every rank. (We’ve all been there. Am I right, ladies?) The costumes for this production are regal, and add on the guest performance by the Danielle Georgiou Dance Company and this will be a breathtaking night for local dance.
