Liquid eyeliner, Revlon blackberry lipstick and Doc Martens are not required. Let out that sigh of relief—I know I did—since the 7th Annual Goth Ball does not require attendees to venture back to their tormented sophomore or junior years. Costumes are totally up to you, which means, thankfully, godawful Robert Smith impressions also are not required. The effort in dressing up is totally worth it, however, since prizes range from $200 to $1500. And the entire shindig is for a good cause: Hosting organization Arts Fighting Cancer donates proceeds to the Cancer Relief Fund. That’s something to smile about…which you can totally do at the Goth Ball, since you’re not, you know, revisiting your angry, NIN-loving youth. The goths throw down at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Granada Theater, 3524 Greenville Ave. Tickets are $20 to $50. Call 214-720-0555 or visit gothball.com.
Sat., Oct. 28, 8 p.m.
