In West Side Story, Maria felt pretty, witty and gay. Now, it’s the gay part we’re focusing on, as Q Cinema and the DFW LGBTQ Latino Alliance honor Hispanic Heritage Month by screening East Side Story—the story of a Latino neighborhood romance that’s, honestly, pretty and witty as well. Filmmaker Carlos Portugal and lead actor Rene Alvarado will be in attendence for this screeing Friday at the Rose Marine Theater, 1440 N. Main St. in Fort Worth. Tickets are $15 for film and reception, $10 for film only. Call 817-462-3368 or visit qcinema.org.
