You don’t need Lindsay Wagner telling you that getting enough good, restful sleep is important. Duh, Sleep Number Queen, we know that. We know that to rejuvenate the cells, the mind and spirit, a person needs a certain amount of sleep. And comfortable, uninterrupted sleep is best, of course. Now, say for instance you are a very light sleeper with a sensitive back. You like soft mattresses of the pillow-top variety, but no matter how much dough you drop at Mattress Giant, no matter how high you stack your expensive, individually coiled investments, there’s just something amiss. The Bionic Woman might tell you to go high-tech (naturally) and get yourself a Sleep Number bed. That creepy couple would suggest a Craftmatic Adjustable bed. The guy with the wine (that’s so obviously grape juice) would offer up the Tempur-Pedic. Garland Civic Theatre’s Children On Stage would probably just point out the errant pea that somehow became wedged just above your box spring, princess. And they’d do it with song in a musical version of The Princess and the Pea, titled Once Upon a Mattress. Get rested up, performances begin Thursday at Granville Performing Arts Center, Austin and Fifth streets in Garland. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through August 6. Tickets are $14 to $15. Call 972-205-2790. Oh, and my sleep number is 40.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: July 27. Continues through Aug. 6
