Valhalla is a lot to handle. You got your mad king who builds castles based on operas, as well as your frolicking country boy in hip-baring dungarees. And of course, there’s a moral to the story, but honestly, we try to steer clear of those. Audiences follow the lives of the two men on a bit of a passionate parallel. Are they soul mates, despite their settings of Texas and Bavaria, their vastly separate eras of 1940s and 1880s, and their cohorts, the high school quarterback and “the loneliest humpback in Europe”? Check in with the Uptown Players and find out as they present Valhalla 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and 2 p.m. Sundays through October 22. The Trinity River Arts Center is located at 2600 Stemmons Freeway. Tickets for performances (intended for mature audiences) are $22 to $25. Call 214-219-2718 or visit uptownplayers.org.
Saturdays, Sundays. Starts: Oct. 8. Continues through Oct. 22
