The good people at the Belmont Hotel support the arts, they really do. Every six weeks, the Belmont selects a new artist from around the region to serve as artist-in-residence at the ritzy North Oak Cliff hotspot. From there, the hotel’s lobby, bar and select hallways transform into a top-notch art exhibit complete with original art, fancy-shmancy lighting and obligatory “ooohs” and “ahhhs” from curious passersby. This week, the Belmont’s Art With a View begins exhibiting the works of Andrea Rogers, Austin-based graphic artists and photographer extraordinaire. To say her work is diverse would be a tremendous understatement: From sweeping landscape shots to Kandinsky-esque abstract paintings, Rogers’ work is a grab bag of Texas-bred artsy goodness. A reception featuring Rogers will be held at Bar Belmont, 901 Fort Worth Ave., from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Her work will remain on display for the subsequent six weeks for all to see, free of charge.
