If there's one good thing to be said for elementary school, it's gotta be all the diorama-making that goes on up in there. I remember a diorama I made about Australia one time, with a tiny koala statue and everything. It was amazing. But then I grew up, and as you know, life for adults is all about heartache and disappointment, with so few chances to make dioramas. Until now! For the second year in a row, F. is For Frank Studio, 1216 Manufacturing St., hosts Diorama-O-Rama, the chance for kids and adults alike to create wondrous or weird or whimsical works of art, for the benefit of Resolana, a local nonprofit organization that assists incarcerated women in self-improvement. The dioramas will be auctioned off at 4 p.m. Saturday, followed by an awards ceremony and dance party. Ten trophies will be awarded to diorama creators, and the event will also feature free beer! Admission is $5 (free for kids), and the first 50 attendees will receive a stylin' tote from Armhole.com, full of free stuff from local businesses.
