Talking in a movie theater should be a capital crime. We’re so sick of the practice that we still say this knowing full well that we live in a state that uses the death penalty as if we all get a free set of steak knives when we hit the 1,000th execution. Still, there are times when talking in a theater doesn’t deserve a trip to the gurney. At least, there’s one time we can think of: when the Texas Theatre holds its monthly comedy show behind the historic theater’s massive movie screen, inviting a crop of local comedians and their A-game material to the stage. This month’s Behind the Screen Comedy Show stars comedians Tyler Simpson, Matt Greer, Ryan Turner Mullican and Larry Campbell. The yakking begins at 11 p.m. at 231 W. Jefferson Blvd. Tickets are $5.

Sat., Feb. 8, 11 p.m., 2014
