Just a little more than a year ago, an active community was born (or, rather, organically formed) out of a common love of photography. Field trips having proven successful, work and notes having been compared, the next logical step was developing a Web site to tie this group of shutterbug friends to the rest of Dallas. And so came photopol.us, “the metropolis for DFW photo nerds.” From 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Kettle Art, 2714 Elm St., hosts an opening reception for 18 photographs, an exhibition curated by photopol.us and featuring the work of some of its members/contributors/followers/fans/all of the above including Andrea Roberts, Ange Fitzgerald, Andrew Shepherd, Justin Terveen and others. The exhibition hangs through March 20. The gallery is open 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and by appointment. Call 214-573-7622 or visit kettleart.com.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 7-10 p.m. Starts: March 13. Continues through March 20, 2010
