The Webb Gallery’s (209 W. Franklin St., Waxahachie) latest show is titled Peep Show. It’s a thoughtful flashback to when sexy was sexy, and not just Miley Cyrus dry-humping a pillow in a white bodysuit. Peep Show is simple, seductive and features girlie shots from burlesque shows throughout the 1940s and 1960s. All the photos come from “a private collection of negatives from amateur photographers.” How charming is that? The show will also feature the latest work from Texas native Bale Creek Allen and his lady friend Allison Walton. Like we said, Bale is from these parts so prepare yourself for images and installations inspired by the dusty, flat land and the artifacts it leaves behind. As always, the show promises to be beyond amazing and worth every gallon of gas. Live music will be performed by The Bellfuries and frothy beverages sponsored by Saint Arnold Brewing Company. Opening night is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. The show runs through October 20. Visit webbartgallery.com.
Saturdays, Sundays. Starts: July 21. Continues through Oct. 20, 2013
