Shimmy, Shake and Laugh

Viva Dallas Burlesque is the biggest burlesque show in Texas, and on Friday, comedy is queen. The Dirty Sexy Funny show features music and dancing too, and the night of comedy and cabaret will begin with music-comedian Laura Ainsworth singing songs from her new album Necessary Evil. Following her performance Ursula Undress, Vivienne Vermuth and Molly Macabre will demonstrate their talents for more than just alliterations. There will be strong displays of multitasking as one lucky lady will be hula-hooping, stripping, fighting off evil birds and telling jokes simultaneously. Other highlights include Vulcans and the worst pirates in the world. Dapper John will be emceeing the madness and audience participation is encouraged, so bring your tassels and quick wit. Doors at the Lakewood Theater, 1825 Abrams Road, open at 8 p.m., and the show starts at 9. Visit vivadallasburlesque.com for tickets.
