Your New Year’s resolution this year: Be a better host. You’ve always thought that as long as everyone was together, that was all that really mattered, but as you were defrosting shrimp cocktail in a colander minutes before this year’s Christmas shindig, you decided that maybe your party planning skills could use some help. Or maybe you’ve always been gifted at throwing soirees and are looking to take it to the next level and make a career out of it. Either way, the 25th Annual Partyfest at Dallas Market Hall, 2200 North Stemmons Freeway, can help you up the ante on your fetes with tons of ideas from caterers, DJs, gift vendors, photographers, decorators and more. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, walk a virtual gantlet of event specialists who will help you get all kinds of Martha Stewart-y. At 2:30 p.m., check out a special presentation by chefs Kent Rathburn, Tiffany Derry and Matt McCallister as they discuss Dallas cuisine and inspire you to start your own farm-to-table movement. Tickets are $10 at the door. Visit applauseproductions.com/partyfest-tradeshow for more info.
