A close-up of Jeff Koons' “Balloon Flower (Magenta),” from the Christie's interview with the artist

As we noted last month, Howard and Cindy Rachofsky are selling one of their beloved sculptures: Jeff Koons' “Balloon Flower (Magenta).” Christie's will handle the sale on June 30, so the Rachofskys can expand their already estimable collection, which will one day wind up in the possession of the Dallas Museum of Art.

“Balloon Flower (Magenta)” goes on display today in London's St. James's Square -- and to commemorate the sale, Christie's Amy Cappallazzo, who's the International Co-Head of the auction house's Post-War and Contemporary Art department, interviews Koons about the work in this eight-minute video. Which should make at least Noted Regional Comic Dave Little happy: Back in May, he wondered of the work, "You sure that's not called the 'pretzel penis?'" And, more or less, Cappallazzo asks Koons the very same question -- though, she's far more hoity and toity about it. --Robert Wilonsky
